Thought I would share a series of lessons on a simple idea that can be very useful. Let’s face it, we all want that when it comes to playing drums right? Well, this simple fill opened the door for some other great ideas so it’s worth mentioning. The basic sticking is RLFF (Right hand, left hand, bass drum, bass drum).
As I mention in the video, there are many ways of creating a nice double stroke on the bass drum. Some guys use two pedals, heel/toe, slide technique etc. I tend to use heel down and maybe I’ll do a video on it at some stage but you have to find what works for you. Start slow and get faster as it begins to settle in.
The drum lesson basically shows how to start applying the basic sticking and leaves the concept open for you to experiment.
